Artist Statement
I have been painting watercolors for over 20 years, not always able to devote the amount time I would like, but never giving up on the passion.

Whatever the subject, my goal is to enhance the view . . . paying attention to the power of transparency and keeping the painting fresh with pure and often surprising color.

I am drawn to unusual compositions, unusual cropping as well as interesting shapes of shadow and light.

Most of all, I want the viewer to experience the moment, to feel curious about and appreciate what is being revealed.

I’m a big believer in “watercolor magic” — whether it works for good, or not so good.
Plan as you will, watercolor keeps you humble!
